PREP:
I've used some hair oil and a heat protectant before curling all of my hair away from my face in a spiral with my favorite "PRO" 1 inch curling iron of the moment. This curling iron + Heat protectant combo gives me the best long lasting results, with SHINY curls by far!
Let me point out that, you don't necessarily put the hair "in side" your mouth, you're merely clamping the hair between the lips... no saliva should be on the hair itself..
