In this week’s, step-by-step, DIY, hair tutorial video, we’ll look at how to do an elegant, long wedding hairstyles with a romantic, cascading curls.
This beautiful updo is really easier than it looks.
As always, just scroll right down to the bottom of this page to watch the hair tutorial video.
I completely understand that braiding can be a challenge, so if you’re looking for an easy, fancy, formal updo without any braiding for your homecoming, prom, or a bridal party, try this romantic, half-up, half-down, long wedding hairstyles, most ideal for medium, or long hair.
To achieve thick, voluminous curls for this side-swept, long wedding hairstyle, I’ve incorporated a 24″ hair extensions to my hair.
You’ll find that most professionally done, long wedding hairstyles, will have a some sort of an extra hair added in, along with some other “goodies” or two, to make the hair look extra vavavoom’ish & glam!
It’s alway best to do hairstyles on dirty hair, but it’s unlikely that a bride will get married with greasy, dirty hair, right? LOL
So we’ll take a relaxing shower, dry our hair, and then apply these products to create “dirt.” This is simply to make our hair-styling easier (on us) and longer lasting (so we don’t have to do it over).
On damp hair apply these
Oil – to keep your hair soft & shiny
If your hair is so dry that you can hardly run a comb through it? Use this…
Root-Lift Mouse – if your hair is limp & fine. Use it on your roots, and THEN blow dry your hair to create big volume. Remember, this stuff only works if you use a blow dryer!
When your hair is completely dry, apply
If you have hard to curl hair – spray this on, allow it to dry, before curling your hair.
Volumizing Styling Powder – (apply to roots only) one of the cheapest in the market and does an awesome job. This product is extremely helpful for teasing.
Speaking of teasing your hair, I’ve skipped that part in this hair tutorial video, because I went over the “how to tease your hair properly,” just last week, but I’ll link that video below if you missed it.
Undoubtedly, the best bobby pins you can buy are the Marrianna bobby pins. They’re not cheap but they last a long time AND they actually work!
The hair bumpit from eBay – here is the seller I bought from.
I’m using the Irresistible Me hair extensions in 24,” Royal Remy in color #2. Use my discount code to get 10% off. IRRESISTIBLETINA
Before following the hair tutorial video, curl your hair using a 1″ curling iron. I used this curling iron set, the 1″ equivalent.
It doesn’t matter which way you curl your hair, but if you really insist on knowing, I curled my hair, away from my face, and then pinned them up for 10 mins using the pin-curl method. Take a look at my popular, Kim Kardashian hair curling tutorial video to see how to pin curl your hair if you’re not sure.
Here is last week’s hair tutorial – I go over how to tease your hair.
