For today’s hairstyle tutorial, I’m going to show you how to do the Tuxedo Braid, Messy Bun. Literally my latest hair obsession! Isn’t this the cutest hair bun ever?
I first saw this – Tuxedo braid on the Cute Girls Hairstyles channel a couple of week’s ago, and thought how amazing it would be if we flipped it into an Upside Down French Braid Bun instead. And OMG, the results are simply stunning!
The pictures below definitely don’t do this cute hairstyle justice, you guys! You HAVE to try this one!
There are 2 layers of braids for this style. A French braid over the Dutch braid. If you can’t do an Upside Down French Braid on yourself, then just make your sister, mom or your best friend learn this, so they can do it for you!
I’m not wearing hair extensions here, but feel free to put them on to make your bun bigger.
HOW TO DO AN UPSIDE DOWN FRENCH BRAID MESSY BUN | Hair Tutorial Video
SKILL LEVEL: Medium-Advance || TIME: 10 Minutes || OCCASIONS: back to school, spring, summer, fall, winter, everyday, prom, homecoming, wedding
|| FOR: Medium, Long Hair Length || Layered, Curly, Straight, Wavy, Natural
Step 1: Create a square section on your crown and make a ponytail.
Step 2: Section out your sides and put them into a ponytail.
Step 3: Flip your hair upside down to start a Dutch braid with the middle section. Dutch braiding is where you cross the side strands under the middle strand.
Step 4: When you reach the middle ponytail, tie the ends and incorporate it to the middle ponytail.
Step 5: Remove the elastic bands used on the 2 side ponytails to start a French braid. French braiding is where you cross the side strands over the middle strand.
Step 6: When you reach the middle ponytail, gather all of your hair into a ponytail and make a bun.
Step 7: To finish, tug on your crown to loosen up your hair. If any lines – skin – are showing, then continue loosening up the hair around the line areas.
