Tina. My Korean name is 지영 ( Gi-Young ).
What race are you?
What is your ethnicity?
I have a Korean mom, but my Korean dad is half-Caucasian, so I guess that makes me a bit of a mutt, eh? 😀

I’m 36. I was born in the year 1977.
Are you a professional hair stylist – make-up artist?

Do you work in a salon?
Yes, I’m a part-time salon stylist in NYC, the rest, I freelance.
Do you take new clients, may I have your info?
Not at this time. I’d like to keep YouTube and online hobbies separate so one doesn’t spoil the other somehow. After all, my work is how I put a roof over my head and food on the table. 🙂

Any advice for a new beauty guru starting out on YouTube?
Don’t join a network, don’t join a network, don’t join a network.. get my point?
Not until you’re big already.
And all those YouTube guru videos that tells you how great their network is, they’re videos with an affiliate link.
Meaning they get money if you sign up with their links (lots of it too) because of that video.
I’m not saying everyone is doing this, but a lot of them are. So just be careful who you trust!
My 2nd advice : You need to learn about SEO – Google this term..
How did you get the white background?
I sit close to the wall with white sheets, and then I make things brighter through the editor.
How can I make my hair as shiny as yours?
My hair is shiny because I have Asian hair, it’s as simple as that.
We have the shiniest hair on the planet, it’s not some miracle product that is doing it.
Will you do a hair-care routine video?
What color are you using on your hair?
I have to dye my hair to cover grey hair ( I normally just grab any permanent color in 4N, and then I hi-light it with an oil-bleach (7 stages with 2 activators + 20 volume) before toning the brassiness down with some semi color in 6N.
I’m VERY low maintenance when it comes to my own hair.
Do you cut your own hair?
What should I tell my stylist to get your hair?
Ask for long layers with face framing piece. The shortest hair on your bangs, should hit the top of your cupid’s bow.
Any plastic surgery like botox, fillers, or the double eye-lid surgery so popular amongst Asians?
No one was rude enough to ask me this.
However, KNOWING how we girls are, and considering how this is such a huge thing among Asians,
I’ll just go ahead and tell you to get rid of the elegant in the room…
No, my face is my own. Remember, my dad is half-white.
I’ve also never had any fillers or botox.
HOWEVER, I’d like to get fillers done in a few years just to maintain my face.
I wear circle lens sometimes in my videos – NEO Queen Honey.
What are the best bobby pins?
Undoubtedly, the best bobby pins you can buy are the Marrianna bobby pins. They’re not cheap but they last a long time AND they actually work!
Any other questions? Ask them below and I’ll add it to this list. <3
